Meet Brian.

How I got where we are now

I was born in 2001 in Gran Canaria, Spain

Before completing my B.Sc. in Computer Engineering, I focused on building meaningful software and diving into the world of cloud computing. Today, I also share what I have learned to help others navigate and thrive in the industry.

Brian at AWS Summit Madrid

Early on in my career, I decided I wanted to become an expert in architecture and infrastructure. So I set my mind on mastering the world's most widely used cloud provider and the technologies that power modern systems. I spent countless hours writing code for the companies I worked for, as well as during my free time creating personal projects.

I have always been passionate about sharing what I know. During university, I had the opportunity to tutor classmates in various subjects. More recently, thanks to the encouragement of a supportive work colleague, I delivered my first internal workshop on AWS, an experience that sparked in me a strong desire to start speaking more and sharing knowledge about technology with a broader audience.

Here are some of the values I live by

Kindness

You can be the most skilled engineer in the room, but if you lack kindness, you limit your ability to truly connect, grow, and make a lasting impact. I believe treating others with empathy and respect is a non-negotiable in both life and work.

Effort and perseverance

My background in sports taught me that progress never comes without consistent effort. Success is built on showing up, putting in the work, and pushing through challenges, even when things need to start from scratch.

Share knowledge

One of the best ways I have learned is by sharing what I know. Whether through blog posts, workshops, or casual conversations, I see knowledge as something meant to be passed on, not kept to myself.

Learn from every experience

Not everything will go as planned, and that is okay. Wins should be celebrated, but the lessons from failures often shape us even more. I try to approach both with the same mindset: learn, grow, and move forward.

A few more things

I'm from Gran Canaria, Spain. Working out how far that is from you…

I run long distances to think. Most of my best architecture decisions happened somewhere around kilometre 12.

I brew genuinely mediocre espresso every morning and remain convinced the next shot will be the good one.

Every year I promise myself I'll read more fiction than tech books. Every year the tech books win.

I record the Call Brian podcast, where engineers leave a voice question and I answer it on air. No script, no editing out the mistakes.
